2017 Update (Updated at bottom 8/28/17)
As I enter this new year of 2017, I thought I would check in to my website and give everyone an update of what is going on with Desmond Guitars these days. I have been extremely busy building guitars! That's the good news! I just finished 5 brand new Desmond classical guitars and they are all wonderful instruments! I will be displaying them in Miami at the Miami International GuitART Festival, Florida International University School of Music, February 24, 25 & 26, 2017. I will be bringing all 5 new Desmond classical guitars to display and share with the public who attend the festival. I am also building 3 new Desmond classical guitars and they are about 1/3 done. I expect them to be finished in June-July 2017. Two of the new guitars have Cedar tops, one of them being an "experimental partial double top", which should be interesting. More about that later. The third guitar in this batch will have a German Spruce top and highly figured Cocobolo back and sides. All three guitars will have sides doubled with Mahogany, a la Daniel Friederich.
Also, I have for sale an incredible 1971 Hermann Hauser II guitar. German Spruce top and gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. This is Hauser's "Llobet" model, meaning it is a bit smaller than the Segovia model and with a shorter scale length. Call me for details if you are interested. 407-452-8750.
I also have a 1978 Daniel Friederich guitar for sale. Cedar top and Indian Rosewood back and sides. A marvelous guitar made by perhaps the greatest classical guitar maker ever! Scale length is 650mm's and it's got a BIG sound, and a beautiful sound! Call me for details if you are interested. 407-452-8750.
I look for 2017 to be my best year in quite awhile. The past few years have been challenging with some health issues and an aging mother who eventually passed away in December 2015 at the age of 96! Mom took a lot of my time the past few years, and I was also sidelined with a heart Ablation in 2015 with complications as well as left hip replacement surgery April 2016. With all that behind me, I am feeling fantastic and in great health as I enter 2017 and the future beyond that.

A quick update about what's going on here at Desmond guitars...
I am in the process of building FOUR NEW Desmond classical guitars. Since I invested in a 1971 Hauser 2 guitar and a 1978 Friederich guitar last year, I have been influenced by both instruments. Three of the new four Desmond guitars have been influenced by my Hauser 2 and Friederich. Without going into lots of details, I'll just leave it at that for now. These four new Desmond guitars will be ready in early 2018.
I'm very excited to be doing business with Gianni Savino, Savino Music, in Miami. I met Gianni and his wife at a guitar show in Miami (FIU) in February 2017. Kenny Hill introduced us. They were impressed with my new guitars and I was impressed at how nice they were and the fact that they represent some famous Spanish makers like Ramirez, Bernabe, and Contreras, as well as the great American guitar maker Kenny Hill. I am looking forward to a lasting relationship with Savino Music, as well as my dealer in New York, Savage Classical Guitars.
Also, FYI, both my personal 1971 Hermann Hauser 2 and my 1978 Daniel Friederich guitars are for sale.
